Our Origins

It was March of 2015. Ira Sena had been running Computer Services by Ira for about three years, and things were beginning to pop. He had an employee who added mobile device repair skills to the business, contract labor coming from all surrounding states, and small businesses being referred to him by satisfied residential customers. He was quite capable in home environments, but large networks and server environments were beyond the scope of his skills. He was doing the best he could, but he was beginning to flounder.

At the same time, Bob Moore had been the owner of R. W. Moore’s Computer Services for almost twenty years. He had built a sizeable pool of customers, mostly schools, and specialized in maintaining network systems and servers. As the schools began adopting the One-to-One program in which every student is given a tablet or laptop, Bob was encountering a need for tablet and laptop repair. Although he could tear an entire network apart and put it back together, he was not nearly as successful with a single computer.

Bob was mulling this over as he arrived at Arby’s in Lawrenceburg, IN to meet a friend for lunch. The place was packed, and the only remaining parking space happened to be right next to Ira’s car. Ira just happened to be meeting a friend for lunch here, too! As Bob got out of his car, he looked at the advertisement decals on Ira’s car, and he immediately noticed that Ira offered mobile device repair. As lunch progressed and the dining room emptied, Bob noticed that both his and Ira’s cars were still in the parking lot. He looked over to the two men seated at another table, one in his twenties and the other in his sixties. He assumed that Ira was the older of the two, since the name “Ira” is not so common among the younger generation. When he looked up Ira’s website later, he was surprised to find the younger man grinning at him!

Ira was still oblivious to Bob’s presence at this time. Bob didn’t introduce himself quite yet; no, he needed to proceed carefully and properly. So, naturally, he proceeded to cyber-stalk Ira over the next few weeks. He watched what Ira posted on his website and Facebook, taking note of how he treated his customers. He found that Ira did not hide his knowledge behind a paywall, but instead readily educated his customers, sharing many solutions and tips for free. Ira knew that his value did not lie in his knowledge alone, but also in his integrity, fairness, skill, and quality of workmanship. This was the kind of businessman with whom Bob could successfully collaborate. He decided to pay Ira a visit that April.

That visit occurred just as Ira was closing up shop in his little Park Hills apartment. At first, Ira thought it was a new business client—which was Bob’s intent. After all, Ira could still be a competitor, and he didn’t want to show all his cards at once. Eventually, Ira pressed him for the nature of his business, and Bob dropped his charade. He was in need of Ira’s assistance as a sister-company, one that might be able to complement Bob’s rather than compete against it. And he felt that he could offer a great deal of complementary skills to Ira as well. Ira readily agreed: Bob had all the skills that Ira could not provide to his commercial clients. And with an excited handshake, a fateful partnership began.

After that, Ira and Bob collaborated on several projects, finding plenty of jobs that blended and utilized both their skill sets. Beyond work, they found a unity of faith and motivation, a commonality in purpose, that caused them to become fast friends. They found themselves depending on each other to a greater degree as each month passed, and found their businesses thriving from it. About a year later, and after a great deal of consideration, Bob took Ira on a deliberately long car ride to a client site, and asked Ira what he thought about merging businesses. The silence was deafening, and lasted nearly till they reached the site. But just before they pulled in, Ira responded that he liked the idea!

In September of 2016, Computer Solutions and Innovations, LLC was born. In the years since, we have watched the Lord build our business further than either of us could have accomplished on our own. He has gotten us through difficult times, and blessed us with many triumphs. We have watched him not only develop our relationship as partners, but also bring to our company a host of talented and determined men and women. We are confident that He will continue to see us through in the years ahead. And we can only praise Him for arranging that crossing of paths at that Lawrenceburg Arby’s that started it all.
